Jana Šrejma Kačírková

Guest of the Opera

Jana Šrejma Kačírková was born in České Budějovice. In 2006, she graduated from the Prague Conservatoire singing the role of Vitellia (Mozart: La clemenza di Tito). In 2004, she won the fourth prize at the Antonín Dvořák Vocal Competition in Karlovy Vary including the guest appearance in the role of Susanna (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro) in Karlovy Vary. In 2005, she won the second prize in the same vocal competition and also received special prizes from the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava (guest appearance in the role of Fiordiligi in Mozart‘s Così fan tutte) and from Opera Mozart (guest apperance in the role of Zerlina in Mozart‘s Don Giovanni) at the Estates Theatre in Prague. From 2006 to 2010, Jana Šrejma Kačírková was a regular guest of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, since December 2010 she has been there in permanent engagement. On this stage, she has created a number of roles, including Mozart‘s Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Zerbinetta (R. Strauss: Ariadna auf Naxos), Mara (M. Tutino: La Lupa), Nedda (Leoncavallo: I pagliacci), Marguerite (Gounod: Faust), Violetta (Verdi: La traviata), Lisette (Puccini: La Rondine), Smetana’s Jitka (Dalibor) and Mařenka (The Bartered Bride), Anne Trulove (Stravinsky: The Rake's progress), Juliette (Gounod: Roméo et Juliette), and others. In summer 2008 she participated at the Festival in Ercolano and performed the role of Elisetta (Cimarosa: Matrimonio segreto). In February 2009 she appeared in Lecca at Teatro Politeama Greca as Lauretta (Puccini: Gianni Schicchi). Throughout her career she has sung at concerts in Italy and Germany. In October 2010 she appeared in the South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice in the role of Donna Anna and in the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec in the role of Amina (Bellini: La Sonnambula). She has been a guest at the Prague Spring and Smetana Litomyšl International Music Festivals. At IMF Český Krumlov she has appeared in the role of Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Nedda (I pagliacci), along with José Cura as Canio. At the Czech National Theatre in Prague, she debuted in the role of Adina (Donizetti: L'elisir d'amore) in December 2010. Her other roles there include Mozart’s Konstanze (Die Enführung aus dem Serail), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte) and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Terinka (Dvořák: The Jacobin) and Olympia (Offenbach: Les contes d'Hoffmann). In March 2013, she gained the prestigious Thalia Award 2012 for her creating the role of Gounod's Juliette at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava.
