Eliška Gattringerová

Soprano singer Eliška Gattringerová was born in 1988 in Prague, Czech Republic. She has been attending singing lessons from an early age and has won many prizes in musical competitions during her childhood. She was also a member of the Bambini di Praga choir. In 2003, she started her classical singing studies at the Prague Conservarory under the supervision of prof. Jarmila Krásová. During her studies, she participated in a cycle of educational music programmes for children arranged by the Czech Philharmony in cooperation with the Prague Conservatory, where she sang the roles of Rusalka and Kitchen boy (in Dvořák’s Rusalka) and the role of Mařenka (in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride). She also performed in Soudničky by Š. Vosečka. She graduated from the Prague Conservatory in 2009 with the lead role of Sandrina in Lancelot (L. Fišer) and the role of Chocholka in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, followed by a recital in Prague’s Rudolfinum concert hall. Since 2009, Eliška continues her studies at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under prof. Ivan Kusnjer, soloist of the National Theatre in Prague. She regularly participates in various recitals and concerts, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. She cooperated with the conductor Ch. O. Monroe in France and with G. Manusci in Vienna. She regularly performs with the Prague Film Orchestra in concerts at the Prague Castle, the Municipal House and in Rudolfinum. She participated in Masaryk´s music festival. In May 2011, she appeared as the second soprano in Mozart’s oratorio Davidde Penitente in a series of performances in Prague, Freiberg, Delft and Rotterdam. In 2013, she performed in the Schlosstheatre Schönbrunn in Vienna. She created the roles of Zdeňka Janáčková in The Diary of One Who Disappeared by Leoš Janáček (2009/2010 season) and the First Nymph and Rusalka in Dvořák’s Rusalka (2010/2011 season) for the Opera studio of the Academy of Performing Arts. In March 2011, Eliška sang the lead role of Lidunka in the premiere of Vilém Blodek’s V studni. During this year season, she also sang the role of Tatyana in Eugene Onegin by P. I. Tchaikovsky. Performing in the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň, she created the role of the Polovetzian girl in Borodin’s Prince Igor in the 2011/2012 season and the role of Gianetta in L’elisir d’amore by G. Donizetti in the 2012/2013 season. In 2010, she attended a masters' class with Austrian singer and teacher Hans Zednik. In 2012, she attented private lessons in New York with American soprano Aprile Millo, soloist of the Metropolitan Opera. In 2013, she took part in a series of masters' classes organized by ISA (International Sommer Academie) in Vienna, led by Edith Lienbacher, soloist of the Volkstheatre Wien. In 2013, Eliška won the first prize in Antonín Dvořák’s International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary.
