Daniela Longhi

Biography

Daniela Longhi was born in Verona, Italy. After winning several competitions in Torino, Philadelphia, Rieti, Adria, Lucca, her first contracts in Italy had been at several smaller theaters, for roles like Violetta, Liu, Micaela, Mimi. Her international career brought her to all major houses in Italy, but also to Festspielhaus Salzburg (Trovatore), Marseille (La bohème, Simone Boccanegra, La traviata, Anna Bolena), Zürich (Semiramide, Il trovatore), Detroit (La traviata, Simone Boccanegra), Hamburg (La traviata, Il trovatore), Lisboa (Il trovatore), Madrid (Anna Bolena), Las Palmas (Turandot, Faust, Maria Stuarda, Simone Boccanegra), Dijon (Manon Lescaut), Liege (La traviata), Versailles (La traviata), Frankfurt (I Medici, La bohème), Montpellier (Roberto Devereux), Tokyo (Turandot, Falstaff, Otello, Aida, La traviata), Wien (La traviata, Simone Boccanegra), Baltimore (La traviata) etc. After her debut as Aida she sung this role each summer at Arena di Verona. Recently she made her debut with more dramatic roles and was singing in Torre del Lago (Tosca), Pittsburgh Andrea Chenier and Tosca, in Shanghai with the Teatro Comunale di Firenze as Aida, in Brescia she sung her first Leonore in La forza dell destino as well as Tosca, in Neapel her first Lady Macbeth, and 2003 in Verona Amelia in Un ballo di maschera for the first time. In 2004 and 2005 she sang among others Tosca (Rome, Verona), Aida (Hamburg, Hannover, Buenos Aires), Manon Lescaut (Rome) etc. Her discography includes Il trovatore (Naxos), Simon Boccanegra (Lyrinx), Aida (Nippon TV), I Medici (Bruson, Giaccomini, Petrusi) etc.
