Biography

Guest of the National Theatre Opera

Christina graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in 2006. Already during studies she performed in various productions and concerts including Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana (the Barbican Hall in London, tour in Italy), Verdi’s Requiem (the Barbican Theatre in London) and the role of Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide  (the Guildhall Theatre in London). She has sung with various conductors and participated in master classes with Enrico Dovico, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dame Emma Kirkby and Yvonne Kenny. She has been in various international competitions including Mozart Competition and Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary, and got to the final four of the National Performing Arts Competition. In August 2012 she came 3rd in the Mozart Competition held in Prague. Last year, Christina moved to Prague where she is currently studying under the guidance of Prof.  Jiří Kotouč, repetiteur and coach Jelena Nosková and conductor Richard Hein. She has sung for various projects of the Czech film composer Robert Jíša, latest being, Illumination Voices – Requiem, which has been released on his ambient music CD album Egyptian Book of Dead. In December 2011 Christina guest appeared as Olympia (Offenbach: Les contes d’Hoffmann) at the Tatar State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Kazan, Russia. In April 2012, she sang the role of the Shepherd Boy in the concert performance of Puccini’s Tosca  in Zlín (Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Walter Attanasi). She is now playing the part of Pamina (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte) on a tour in Germany. On December 22, she will debut on the stage of the State Opera in Prague in the role of the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte) and on the same stage, she will create Adele (J. Strauss: Die Fledermaus).
