On 10 and 11 March 2010 a gala performance in honour of the world-renowned Czech prima ballerina Daria Klimentová will take place at the National Theatre in Prague. The National will be the venue of her 1000th stage appearance.
This is a truly amazing landmark in her life, illustrating and confirming the artist’s exceptionality within her outstanding ballet career.
Daria is an international dance icon and a proud Czech who has done a lot for this noble art and at the same time has engraved herself in the history of world ballet.
At her gala evening it is her wish to introduce to the audience other ballet stars from all over the world and also express thanks to her innumerable admirers in Prague. This gala will give Daria fans the opportunity to see her dance possibly for the very last time in the Czech Republic.
Daria has put together for the Czech audience a special evening of spectacle, virtuosity, emotion and fun to show herself and her guests to their fullest.
Appearing at the gala will be the remarkable Friedemann Vogel, principal dance of Stuttgarter Ballett, whose partnership with Daria has been compared to that of Fontaine and Nureyev.
The guests will include the charming Hungarian dancer Tamás Solymosi.
Christopher Hampson, a choreographer whose works have been performed worldwide, has specially created a piece for the two of them for this gala.
The star of New York’s American Ballet Theatre Herman Cornejo will perform the Spectre de la Rose accompanied by the lovely young soloist from the English National Ballet, Adela Ramirez. Ms. Ramirez will also dance with her partner James Forbat to the piano of the wonderful Kevin Darvas.
Daniil Simkin a soloist also at American Ballet Theatre will dance opposite Maria Kochetkova, principal dancer with San Francisco Ballet.
